Success Story: FRANCES UKU

Here is another segment of Success Stories, the column devoted to the triumphs of our hardworking actors. This month we have chosen the accomplished artist; Frances Uku Frances got her MFA in Acting from the Harvard/ART Institute/Moscow Art Theatre School and also trained at The Second City. Fave credits include new plays with New York City's LAByrinth Theater Company, The New Group, Women Center Stage Festival plus a few "slightly older" plays with the Independent Shakespeare Company in Los Angeles. She made her television debut on the final season of hit sitcom Girlfriends on The CW and has also played leads in a few small indie films. Proud member: SAG-AFTRA & Equity. Fave collaborator names to drop: Debbie Allen, Barbara Kopple, Israel Horovitz, Katori Hall, and Ethan Hawke. Dream directors: Steve McQueen and Carol Morley.
